A.Jay James is a director, cinematographer, and photographer currently working in the Washington, D.C. area. Travelling often for both work and pleasure, she enjoys filming diverse aspects of life. In childhood, she followed her father’s footsteps in photography, becoming a “moment captor.” Though her love for photography was initial and instinctual, she primarily worked as an actress and model until university. That’s when her love for theatre and film converged and her proclivity towards cinematography began. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Mary Washington, she continued to model and act in national and international projects, until realizing her true joy occurred working behind the lens. Using her experiences in front of and behind the camera, she now focuses on Cinematography; producing music videos, films, documentaries, virtual ceremonies, and live events, as well as Photography; capturing weddings, editorials, intimate moments, and her travels.
